BigCommerce Migration: Arctic Supply, a purveyor of HVAC systems and repair parts, had built its operations on a WordPress website with dated navigability and functionality. They partnered with 1Digital® Agency to execute a migration to a newly designed and developed BigCommerce website that would better represent their brand, support their operations, and scale with their growth. They were looking for a strategic partner that could help bring their brand up to date in an increasingly competitive eCommerce marketplace.
1Digital® Agency’s team diligently designed and developed a brand new, brand integrated BigCommerce website with enhanced visuals and functionality, intended to promote a more enjoyable customer experience and encourage visitors to convert.
Custom Design: The custom design project for Arctic Supply included the design of a brand new homepage, along with new category, subcategory, and product pages. The design of the homepage was brand integrated, featuring color-aligned visuals and elements that consolidated the brand experience and improved the overall aesthetic of the website.
For their homepage, we developed several custom banners through which visitors could navigate to featured categories; our designers also promoted categories associated with high-intent to purchase, such as “HVAC Parts,” “Installation Supplies,” “Top-Selling” systems, and “Brands” through prominently displayed, navigable tiles and icons.
To encourage user navigation, we also designed a new, sticky mega menu to succinctly and neatly categorize Arctic Supply’s wide catalog of HVAC systems and repair parts, carefully nesting categories and subcategories within it in order to declutter the website and provide a superior customer experience.
Advanced Development: In order to ensure the seamless operability of all the components of their new BigCommerce website, 1Digital® Agency’s developers created new functionality for Arctic Supply’s website. Our developers created and implemented a “Price Contingency” option for certain product pages, allowing the price tool to adjust based on the add ons or features selected by a client, improving the accuracy of pricing and improving the shopping experience. As Arctic Supply enables its customers the ability to pick up their orders in-store, 1Digital® Agency also developed an “In-Store Pickup” option for the product pages

Our developers also established a series of filters and associated select products with them, setting a template for the client to follow by which additional products could be filtered in the future. Custom Design: Funkypiece operates from Funkypiece.com and three locations in the D.C. metro area, offering a wide range of smoking glass and accessories to its clients. When they partnered with 1Digital® Agency for a custom redesign in 2021, they were working with a website design that was scroll-friendly and otherwise easy to navigate but didn’t fully capture the essence of their brand. Without proper brand integration to distinguish Funkypiece Smoke Shop as unique from its online competitors, there was a great opportunity on the table for a redesign.
1Digital® Agency’s design team streamlined the design of their homepage, removing the loud excesses of color that were present before, simplifying and minimizing aesthetics. In place of the distracting, full-color imagery of the product categories that were previously featured at the top of the homepage, 1Digital® Agency created a series of simple, navigable category icons that were less overwhelming, more succinct, and did not distract from the rest of the homepage.
Our designers preserved the scroll-friendliness of the website design and created a section to display bestsellers and featured categories. Their new homepage now displays a special section for a single featured product and prominently advertises their retail locations. In addition to the redesign work we performed for their homepage, our designers also applied our new custom aesthetic to a number of preexisting pages that the client wanted to keep.
Advanced Development: Funkypiece’s custom design project also entailed extensive, advanced development. For instance, Funkypiece relies heavily on a wide range of third-party apps in order to provide a high level of customer service and deliver a streamlined, pleasant user experience. 1Digital® Agency’s developers integrated and configured Sezzle, Yotpo, In-Stock Notify, and JustUno.
Our development team also created a number of features that would further improve navigability through their website. For one, we developed an advanced mega menu that collapsed to the left of the screen and neatly and succinctly categorized and subcategorized their products. In addition, our developers implemented lazy loading for their category pages, to encourage scroll-friendly navigation. We implemented advanced responsive coding to alter the display of the mobile version of their category pages, delivering a custom interface.
Our development team also implemented a “product page countdown timer” plugin indicating to the visitor how much time remained within a given timeframe to complete the purchase in order to secure free shipping, which feature serves as an effective urgency play and conversion booster.
SEO: As SEO is the backbone of modern digital marketing, Funkypiece partnered with us for an aggressive eCommerce SEO campaign to support the efforts of its design and development projects. Our technical team performed an initial audit to identify and rectify potential errors with site content or structure, analyzing URL slugs, the current site map, metadata, and scanning for a duplicate copy, among other items. Custom Design & Development: Bolt Financial, also known simply and more commonly as “Bolt” and operating from shop.bolt.com, has recently begun selling clothing and accessories. Bolt partnered with 1Digital® Agency for a design and development project to update the functionality of various aspects of their website. Starting with their homepage, our eCommerce developers created a custom carousel, complete with hover-over effects, pop-ups, and redirection links that streamlined the customer journey.
1Digital® also completed a number of customizations for their Artists Page template, a custom carousel to feature product imagery, a custom banner image, a custom content section, social media icons and redirection links, product listings, and a special section, “Submit Your Art,” by which customers could send the client their own media.
1Digital® Agency’s developers performed the DNS setup for this client, enabling the client to change or otherwise manage the domain name. Our eCommerce developers also integrated the store’s accessiBe application.
Custom Design & Dev – Category Page: In addition to the various development items 1Digital® Agency performed for Bolt, our developers also performed a wide range of advanced customizations to the client’s category page template.
Our development team created custom subcategory links for the category page templates. These buttons display at the top of each category page, pulling information from the back end of the store associated with the next tier of subcategories.
Our developers also created a custom drop-down menu for the client’s BigCommerce store, to display “Artists” instead of “Brands,” in keeping with the messaging and branding of the website. We also developed a custom carousel for the category page template to display featured products and imagery.
Custom Design & Dev – Product Page Template Customizations: 1Digital® Agency’s development team concluded a series of product page template customizations as a part of this project. We created an “Artist Link” to appear underneath the title of the product, with a redirection link to that Artists’ category page.
We also created product page tabs for the product page templates, complete with a custom script to pull data from the BigCommerce backend in order to display data associated with the product itself and the Artist that created it.
In order to encourage conversions and cross-selling opportunities, our developers also created a “More From Section” for the product page template, which displays additional products by the same artist as the product in question. The solution we created used the native BigCommerce “You May Also Like Products” function, altering it to display products from the same artist.
