BigCommerce Migration: Arctic Supply, a purveyor of HVAC systems and repair parts, had built its operations on a WordPress website with dated navigability and functionality. They partnered with 1Digital® Agency to execute a migration to a newly designed and developed BigCommerce website that would better represent their brand, support their operations, and scale with their growth. They were looking for a strategic partner that could help bring their brand up to date in an increasingly competitive eCommerce marketplace.
1Digital® Agency’s team diligently designed and developed a brand new, brand integrated BigCommerce website with enhanced visuals and functionality, intended to promote a more enjoyable customer experience and encourage visitors to convert.
Custom Design: The custom design project for Arctic Supply included the design of a brand new homepage, along with new category, subcategory, and product pages. The design of the homepage was brand integrated, featuring color-aligned visuals and elements that consolidated the brand experience and improved the overall aesthetic of the website.
For their homepage, we developed several custom banners through which visitors could navigate to featured categories; our designers also promoted categories associated with high-intent to purchase, such as “HVAC Parts,” “Installation Supplies,” “Top-Selling” systems, and “Brands” through prominently displayed, navigable tiles and icons.
To encourage user navigation, we also designed a new, sticky mega menu to succinctly and neatly categorize Arctic Supply’s wide catalog of HVAC systems and repair parts, carefully nesting categories and subcategories within it in order to declutter the website and provide a superior customer experience.
Advanced Development: In order to ensure the seamless operability of all the components of their new BigCommerce website, 1Digital® Agency’s developers created new functionality for Arctic Supply’s website. Our developers created and implemented a “Price Contingency” option for certain product pages, allowing the price tool to adjust based on the add ons or features selected by a client, improving the accuracy of pricing and improving the shopping experience. As Arctic Supply enables its customers the ability to pick up their orders in-store, 1Digital® Agency also developed an “In-Store Pickup” option for the product pages
1Digital® Agency also installed and configured Instant Search+ within the client’s new BigCommerce website. Our developers also established a series of filters and associated select products with them, setting a template for the client to follow by which additional products could be filtered in the future. These features boosted the search functionality and the overall user experience of the client website. Intuitive search functionality is even more vital for eCommerce merchants serving predominantly serving in B2B; many of their clients visit these websites with a SKU or specific part number already in mind. Funkypiece Smoke Shop

Custom Design: Funkypiece operates from Funkypiece.com and three locations in the D.C. metro area, offering a wide range of smoking glass and accessories to its clients. When they partnered with 1Digital® Agency for a custom redesign in 2021, they were working with a website design that was scroll-friendly and otherwise easy to navigate but didn’t fully capture the essence of their brand. Without proper brand integration to distinguish Funkypiece Smoke Shop as unique from its online competitors, there was a great opportunity on the table for a redesign.
1Digital® Agency’s design team streamlined the design of their homepage, removing the loud excesses of color that were present before, simplifying and minimizing aesthetics. In place of the distracting, full-color imagery of the product categories that were previously featured at the top of the homepage, 1Digital® Agency created a series of simple, navigable category icons that were less overwhelming, more succinct, and did not distract from the rest of the homepage.
Our designers preserved the scroll-friendliness of the website design and created a section to display bestsellers and featured categories. Their new homepage now displays a special section for a single featured product and prominently advertises their retail locations. In addition to the redesign work we performed for their homepage, our designers also applied our new custom aesthetic to a number of preexisting pages that the client wanted to keep.
Advanced Development: Funkypiece’s custom design project also entailed extensive, advanced development. For instance, Funkypiece relies heavily on a wide range of third-party apps in order to provide a high level of customer service and deliver a streamlined, pleasant user experience. 1Digital® Agency’s developers integrated and configured Sezzle, Yotpo, In-Stock Notify, and JustUno.
Our development team also created a number of features that would further improve navigability through their website. For one, we developed an advanced mega menu that collapsed to the left of the screen and neatly and succinctly categorized and subcategorized their products. In addition, our developers implemented lazy loading for their category pages, to encourage scroll-friendly navigation. We implemented advanced responsive coding to alter the display of the mobile version of their category pages, delivering a custom interface.
Our development team also implemented a “product page countdown timer” plugin indicating to the visitor how much time remained within a given timeframe to complete the purchase in order to secure free shipping, which feature serves as an effective urgency play and conversion booster.
SEO: As SEO is the backbone of modern digital marketing, Funkypiece partnered with us for an aggressive eCommerce SEO campaign to support the efforts of its design and development projects. Their leaders worked alongside our project managers to develop a strategic list of 75 target keywords and then a keyword strategy to optimize their online presence to attract the greatest attention from users with the highest intent to purchase.
Our technical team performed an initial audit to identify and rectify potential errors with site content or structure, analyzing URL slugs, the current site map, metadata, and scanning for a duplicate copy, among other items. We gained access to their Google Analytics so that we could monitor the success of our ongoing efforts.
Concurrently, our content production team began drafting blog posts, web page copy, and a series of offset guest posts that would be collectively used to generate higher domain authority for the website, its key pages, and to develop a link strategy that would support the initiatives. We also optimized headers, metadata, and other relevant on-page ranking signals pursuant to our content strategy for the client, in order to generate higher organic rankings.

Custom Design: Samantha Margaret, operating from SamanthaMargaret.com, is a brand that specializes in providing favors and accessories for bridal showers, weddings, and similar festivities. A website that closely aligns with its brand image is vital to its customer experience.
This client partnered with our team of eCommerce designers for a redesign of their online store, which would preserve and reinforce the image, color, and design scheme of their brand as fun but sophisticated. Our designers created a more modern homepage that was better brand-integrated and easier to navigate, featuring branded badges for featured products, top categories, and customer favorites.
We also redesigned their category pages, product pages, and “About Us” page. As the “About Us” page is one of the most important pages on an eCommerce website, our designers were careful to sew elements of the brand into the layout, coloration, and fonts used on the page; we also included badges for navigation from the About page to other key pages, including the client’s blog and product categories.
Custom Development: As could be expected with a custom redesign, Shop Samantha Margaret’s project was accompanied by a variety of custom development items that supported the redesign efforts and assured quality.
In addition to the standard procedure of converting mockups to HTML/CSS, our developers also made sure that the finished designs met Google’s mobile-first testing for mobile optimization. Our eCommerce development team also styled 5 CMS pages and integrated Instant Search + into the client’s Shopify store, in order to preserve the quality of the user shopping experience afforded by the website.
Pursuant to our design and development efforts, 1Digital® Agency provided 30 days of support with the project to ensure that everything was delivered and working as intended, to ensure customer satisfaction.
eCommerce SEO: In addition to its redesign and development projects, Shop Samantha Margaret also partnered with 1Digital® Agency for an eCommerce SEO project, targeting a cohort of 20 curated keywords closely associated with customer search intent and intent to purchase.
Our full-service SEO team audited the client’s website for duplicate content, broken and toxic links, rectifying the issues where they were uncovered. We also verified that the right processes were in place for optimizing a variety of on-page ranking signals, such as metadata and alt text, among others, and optimized key pages during the process.
Meanwhile, our content production team produced a variety of optimized content for the client website, including blogs and category page content, as well as a series of offsite posts to be used to generate backlinks for the client. Throughout the process, our team has monitored the client’s Google Analytics and Google Search Console accounts to track the success of the project and make adjustments as necessary.

Custom Design: Hero Care Packages, at HeroCarePackages.com, has developed an innovative solution for providing care packages to overseas soldiers, coordinating shipping with the APO and FPO, and selecting products that are both valuable and practical for enlisted men and women. They manage the hard work of sending valuable packages to heroes overseas, doing all the heavy lifting and coordination.
Before partnering with 1Digital® Agency for a full-scale redesign and advanced development agency, Hero Care Packages was operating on a BigCommerce website with a sparse design and a lot of negative space. 1Digital® Agency completed a complete redesign to update the look and feel of their website that would deliver a branded, more immersive experience.
1Digital® Agency redesigned Hero Care Packages’ homepage, filling in much of the negative space, suffusing the various elements of the design with the brand’s red, white and blue color scheme. We also created “Subscribe,” “Send Package Now,” or “Build Your Own,” badges for the homepage to guide the user experience and stimulate conversions. The homepage also now features badges for top-selling packages as well as visual-heavy promotions of their different subscription package levels.
The scope of this project also included a custom redesign of key category and product pages, along with several content pages in addition to a branded About Us page. Their new About Us page effectively communicated their purpose of expressing appreciation for American servicemen and women.
Advanced Development & Customization: The redesign project for Hero Care Packages also included several extensive advanced development items and customizations. Among them, we created a custom script for the shipping and billing section of the checkout page, streamlining the process of entering the information and improving the checkout experience. We also implemented and optimized a 1-page checkout as per BigCommerce’s default standards. This feature is intended to enhance the user’s checkout experience and encourage conversions. We also developed a product page template with predefined dynamic product options. This feature dynamically adjusts the product options as the customer selects them.
KM Herbals
[ Migration, Design, Development, SEO ]
Data Migration: One of KM Herbals’ concerns was the limitation of the platform with which they were working, specifically in terms of scalability and data management. They needed to transfer product data as well as important customer data such as profile information. With the help of the team at 1Digital® Agency, KM Herbals successfully migrated valuable data to BigCommerce, which would ultimately offer them better flexibility and control of their website.
Custom Design: KM Herbals took advantage of the migration as a capital time for a redesign. They wanted their website to put forward a new look and feel overall to appeal more directly to their target audience. They also wanted to restructure the manner in which information about their business and products was presented on their site. Our team got in touch with the elements of the old site that were capturing the essence of their image and drew on them to create a fresh look that gave new life to their site design.
Custom Development : A big concern for KM Herbals was their ability to offer different experiences to their retail and wholesale users. They wanted to avoid a one size fits all approach, and we worked with them to create a new CMS for their wholesale users that enabled them to buy in bulk and segmented their value as a wholesaler seamlessly from their value as a retail partner.
SEO: After the start of their design and development projects with 1Digital® Agency, KM Herbals partnered with us for a creative SEO campaign to generate more targeted organic traffic to their website. Our SEO experts curated a select group of target keywords that were ideally balanced for competitive density as well as search intent. After collaborating with the client for the selection of the keywords, our technical specialists meticulously optimized their online store, paying close attention for opportunities where strategic improvements could be made, such as URL structure, meta data, and category and product page content. Simultaneously, our creative team drafted a series of pieces of original, optimized content for use both on KMHerbals.com and on offsite locations, both of which also further enhanced the performance of their link strategy. Overall, this strategy, when paired with the user experience improvements we authored for their online store, helped to reinforce their presence with a steady stream of new, highly targeted organic traffic.
Northstock
[ Migration, Design, Development ]
BigCommerce Migration: H Mac Systems, which has since become known at Northstock, is a provider of quality HVAC products and parts. Previously, they had been built on 3DCart, but considering a variety of issues associated with reliability, support and compatibility with 3rd-party applications, they looked to a migration to a more capable platform (BigCommerce) to provide the reliability and advanced features necessary to provide the functionality both they and their customers needed.
The migration was comprehensive and accounted for a huge assortment of relevant, critical company data, including but not limited to well over 100 categories and over 430,000 products. Our specialists meticulously transferred the data, taking great care to preserve the minute details associated with product descriptions, prices, SKUs and images, as well as all data relevant to SEO, in order to prevent subsequent hiccups in traffic.
1Digital® Agency also migrated sensitive data associated with more than 20,000 customer accounts and 70,000 orders, accounting for personal data, order comments, status, and other specific information. We migrated an assortment of the client’s content over to the new BigCommerce store, meticulously setting up standard 301 redirects along the way to prevent any undue fluctuations in traffic or ranking in the wake of the migration.
Custom Design: Northstock’s migration to a new BigCommerce store required a variety of custom design deliverables, to preserve the continuity and integrity of their brand. The project encompassed the design of a new custom homepage, complete with custom banners for the presentation of relevant promotional imagery, as well as new category and product pages. The project also entailed the design of a new About Us page as well as the styling of two content pages.
Northstock’s new BigCommerce store was designed so as to feature easy navigation, despite the complexity of their product offerings, as well as prominently displayed buttons that would transport users to top categories, such as “All Heating,” or “All Cooling.” The new Northstock BigCommerce homepage also featured displays advertising top brands served and highlighted key company selling points, encouraging visitors to read customer testimonials, to learn more about the organization, or to directly contact Northstock’s customer service department.
Advanced Development: Because Northstock was moving to a new BigCommerce website, several advanced development deliverables accompanied the project. 1Digital® Agency developed, among other items, a subcategory landing page template that would enable Northstock to more efficiently arrange its products without overwhelming users. Instead of displaying all of the products within a given category, when selected, the subcategory page displays a set of neatly arranged subcategories within the greater category, presenting their inventory in a much more digestible format.
1Digital® Agency’s development team also recreated 3DCart’s “Ships In” feature on their new BigCommerce store, to give Northstock’s customers a better estimation of how long it would take select products to ship. Similarly, and to allow Northstock to provide a better user experience, 1Digital® created custom fields displaying information associated with the timeframe during which a product would ship and from where.
Many of Northstock’s products were accompanied with specific literature in the form of PDFs, offered for the purposes of educating their customers. 1Digital® migrated over this information and then created a custom script that would ensure that the PDFs were then assigned to the associated, related products on Northstock.com.
1Digital® also recreated a feature for Northstock’s website that enables customers to view an interactive 3D image of their products, which also incorporates a zoom feature. This tool encourages customer engagement with Northstock’s diverse array of products. Additionally, 1Digital® Agency also integrated several 3rd-party apps into the new BigCommerce website, including eProduct Plug, a custom Contact Us form, Rejoiner, LiveChat, Quote Ninja, and several pay method integrations into the new store. These preserved the integrity of the user experience that Northstock has always offered to their customers.
